Why should I pay a commission rate with the Performance Plan?

Retailers should have the option of avoiding an overwhelming set-up cost. Large set-up costs charged by other m-commerce providers are more difficult to get budget approval and typically take months to develop.

Equally as important is that our network data has consistently shown that more than three-quarters of our clients' mobile orders come from new customers. Paying commissions is very similar to the affiliate model where retailers pay a small percentage of a sale to acquire a customer. You pay a commission rate to mShopper for increasing the conversion rate of these mobile shoppers by giving them a more enjoyable, mobile optimized shopping experience.

Otherwise, the affiliate-driven mobile traffic sees a poorly formatted website which takes too long to load on a phone and is too difficult to shop on. Mobile users have short attention spans and their shopping experience has to be simple and fast. mShopper makes sure your mobile traffic converts and returns to the site another time! Finally, mShopper gives you the marketing and merchandising tools to grow this new mobile channel and optimize it right on the platform. Your mobile commerce effort needs to grow as your mobile consumer base grows and your allocation of resources should be commensurate. Why do you use e-commerce traffic to determine pricing?
Your web traffic lets us estimate your potential mobile traffic which tells us a) how many pages we will need to serve to your mobile shoppers, and b) likely usage of mShopper's databases. These both impact pricing.
What does the monthly fee provide?
The monthly platform licensing fee primarily covers the costs to securely host your mStore and merchant Dashboard on mShopper's servers.

It also covers constant technology updates like device versioning (changes for every new phone released), all technical support, ongoing merchant training such as webinars, and ongoing feature upgrade to improve your mStore conversion rate and keep current with mobile SEO best practices.

Can I change from Performance to Flat Rate at any time (and vice-versa)?
Sure! We're flexible and want you to be happy with the economics of your mobile commerce strategy. Our flat fee programs come with a longer commitment than our month-to-month engagements. Talk to your Sales person to find a plan right for your business.
With the Performance plan, can I *really* cancel with just 30 days notice?
Yup. We are confident about the performance of our mStores and the ease with which you can manage them yourself.
What kind of Custom pricing plans are available?
We can discuss combinations of the Flat and Performance plans, including changes to any set-up or monthly fees, greater limits on the number of SKUs, and length of the contract. Most merchants prefer to be on the very low-risk Performance plan, however, which eliminates the set-up fee and contract, and keeps monthly fees low.
What happens if I have more SKUs than are allowed?
mShopper builds a properly formatted mobile web page for each one of your product SKUs, so we do charge for larger-than-average product libraries. SKU volume limits vary by your plan size. The monthly fee rises by $25 for each additional 5,000 SKUs imported into the mStore.
Our website is very unique. What do you charge for mStore customizations?
We perform custom development work for many of our merchants and charge a low hourly rate based on an agreed-upon statement of work. Our rates are very competitive and work can be done in as little as one week.
Can we hire mShopper's mobile experts to manage and optimize our mStore?

Yes. Most merchants hire mShopper's Performance Services Group (PSG) for 3, 6 or 12 months when they first launch their mStore. However, PSG can help merchants anytime (for a very low price) to provide 1-on-1 support, strategic mobile marketing recommendations, perform merchandising, conduct SMS (text message) promotions, and assist with feature implementation and data feed/API optimization. It is like having a team of mobile experts on staff without the overhead.

PSG merchants use more conversion features, have larger mobile databases, communicate with shoppers more often, save more time, and sell more than other mShopper merchants. Learn more and find out your custom pricing here.

What does it cost to send SMS messages?

Merchants buy SMS credits for 1.5 cents each from the mShopper Dashboard in order to send SMS, with no minimum purchase amount. This rate drops to just 1 cent each when purchased in volume. The rate compares favorably to most SMS providers that charge 3 to 5 cents each and have both minimum order sizes and monthly hosting costs for using SMS.

Merchants sending SMS also have access to mShopper's short code (80676) and the ability to create custom-branded keywords to use with this short code (ex: "Text SHOEDEAL to 80676 to get shoe deals!")

When is my credit card charged?

mShopper will charge your credit card for the monthly platform fee when you first start using the platform and every month going forward. Any applicable free trials or promotional discounts will be applied accordingly.

Monthly recurring charges are 1) commissions for merchants using the performance plan and 2) Performance Services fees for merchants using mShopper's mStore management service.

One-time charges are 1) SMS credits purchased from the Dashboard (for merchants who send SMS messages), 2) custom development work, and 3) other agreed-upon paid support above, beyond normal technical support.

What's the cost to have mShopper enter orders into my site?
This optional service provided by mShopper's PCI-compliant Order Processing Team costs $2 per order unless the commission paid on the sale (for performance-plan merchants) exceeds this amount. These charges will be made at the time of your monthly commission charges.
Are there any other hidden charges now or later?
mShopper aims to have the most transparent pricing in the mobile commerce business. Your Terms & Conditions will explicitly list all applicable costs. Once you begin with mShopper, there are no new costs to use the platform features you signed up for. Platform technology updates are automatically included in your program.
